LAUREN MCANALLEN - ARTIST
Lauren is an artist and woodworker residing in Western Pennsylvania. Lauren prefers to work with felled trees, branches, and roots harvested from her property. Lauren also works with Pennsylvania harvested lumber sourced from various local businesses. Having a variety of sources makes the process ever-changing and it is truly a labor of love and enjoyment.
ARTIST STATEMENT
Highlighting the imperfections and natural beauty of each piece is an incredibly satisfying process for me. Admiring each curve of the grain, twist of the branch, and handcarving to reveal the individual character brings me great joy. There are no two pieces alike and I celebrate the differences, the individuality, and the beauty each piece exhibits. Through patience in the process and adapting to the stories the materials tell me - I am able to create a finished product with a new voice to be enjoyed and appreciated.
